Every week here at Two Oceans Property in Panama we are in contact with clients or potential clients from all over the world. The majority of our phone calls emails come in from North America, Canada, Europe and other countries in Latin America.
I have noticed when comparing the market here in Panama with other countries that everywhere else seems to be at a standstill. No movement at all.
Panama on the other hand is literally taking on the world. The Panama canal has always been considered the crossroads of the world and now people are coming from everywhere to work live or invest.
Most people are interested in buying property either as a part time residence or permanent. It is relatively easy and inexpensive to obtain a “pensionado” (retirement visa) here. Once you get here you will see right away what is happening. Let`s begin with the city
On Balboa Avenue, they have just completed a new 4 lane, seaside road, with a promenade for walking, biking and soccer and basketball.It is also currently being extended to Casco Viejo. Casco Viejo is currently about 11% restored. It is the oldest European city (settlement) on the Pacific ocean and over the next 10 years will be restored to it`s former glory. After seeing the opportunities here visitors often ask if it is safe to invest in Panama, being understandably nervous about investing in foreign countries. Are there laws which protect foreign investment here? Yes, and also laws which provide benefits for investing in Panama.
